Think Happiness

If I could give some advice of something I have learned thoughout my life it would be to surround yourself with positive people. The people you hang around with are a reflection of you. Don't surround yourself with bad people who make poor decisions and ultimately bring you down. The more you hang around positive happy people the more you will want to be positive and do great things in life.

~Positive people help you realize your dreams. Negative people take them away.

Ten phrases you should incorporate into your daily vocabulary if you want to become known as a positive person:

*I’m wrong.
*I’m sorry.
*You can do it.
*I believe in you.
*I’m proud of you.
*Thank you.
*I need you.
*I trust you.
*I respect you.
*I love you.

Awesome Dunk!

I was looking for some good March Madness highlights to post but I stumbled upon this dunk and had to post it..he didn't even mean to do it..so great and funny!

Bibe Verse Of The Week

There is no fear in love;but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18

She Is Love

Can I just tell you how obsessed I am with this song...brings a smile to my face:) :)

I've been beaten down, I've been kicked around,
But she takes it all for me.
And I lost my faith, in my darkest days,
But she makes me want to believe.

They call her love, love, love, love, love. (x2)
She is love, and she is all I need.
She's all I need.

Well I had my ways, they were all in vain,
And she waited patiently. It was all the same, all my pride and shame,
And she put me on my feet.

They call her love, love, love, love, love. (x3)
She is love, and she is all I need. (x3)

Walk By Faith..Not By Sight

Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth’s rite of Passage?

His father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him and leaves him alone. He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it. He cannot cry out for help to anyone. Once he survives the night, he is a MAN.He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own. The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds of noises. Wild beasts must surely be all around him. Maybe even some human might do him harm. The wind blew the grass and earth, and shook his stump, but he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could become a man! Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold. It was then that he discovered his father sitting on the stump next to him. He had been at watch the entire night, protecting his son from harm. We, too, are never alone. Even when we don’t know it, God is watchingover us, sitting on the stump beside us. When trouble comes, all we have to do is reach out to Him.

In Loving Memory...

My dear friend Katie lost her grandpa Zeke yesterday. Zeke was like a grandpa to me as well. He was an amazing man and will be very missed. I send my thoughts and prayers to those who knew and loved Zeke.

Dear Zeke,
May Bast guide your spirit to the Summerlands,
May your spirit find peace eternal,
Your journey has only just begun.
For death is not the end of our journey,
It is simply a resting point before moving on.
Even as you are parted from those who loved you,
All of you will meet once again.

Bible verse of the week

"And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive" Matthew 21:22

she loves you

If she’s a zombie: She loves you, but only for your brains.

If she says, “I love you” on the roller coaster, right after you’ve puked down your shirt: She loves you.

If she plays pointedly with strangers’ babies at the park, intermittently looking over to you with an expression that says, “See?”: She loves you.

If she knows what song is coming next on the mix CD you made her: She loves you.

If she loves you, if she really loves you, you’ll know it. If you can wake up to her staring at you and it’s not even mildly creepy, if you catch her smelling the shoulder of the hooded sweatshirt you lent her for an autumn walk at the beach, and not for B.O., if she makes you a pancake in the shape of a shark, if she calls you drunkenly at four in the morning “to talk,” if she laughs at your jokes when they’re funny and makes fun of you when they’re not, if she keeps her fridge stocked with Guinness tallboys for when you come over, if she tells you how she wishes she were closer to her sister and that her dad makes her sad: She loves you, of course she loves you.

--And with a love like that, you know you should be glad.

Here is an Irish Blessing--
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Don't Judge Someone Till You Have Walked a Mile In Their Shoes

I feel like people these days are always quick to judge other people. When we do this people become hesitant and never follow their hearts and be their true selves. This world would be a better place if we didn't judge each other.

Matthew 7:1-5 "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

LoVe...

"Love isn’t an act, it’s a whole life. It’s staying with her now because she needs you; it’s knowing you and she will still care about each other when sex and daydreams, fights and futures—when all that’s on the shelf and done with. Love--why, I’ll tell you what love is: it’s you at seventy-five and her at seventy-one, each of you listening for the other’s step in the next room, each afraid that a sudden silence, a sudden cry, could mean a lifetime’s talk is over. ”

Jeremy Camp "There Will Be a Day"=)

I try to hold on to this world with everything I have

But I feel the weight of what it brings, and the hurt that tries to grab

The many trials that seem to never end, His word declares this truth,

that we will enter in this rest with wonders anew

But I hold on to this hope and the promise that He brings

That there will be a place with no more suffering

There will be a day with no more tears, no more pain, and no more fears

There will be a day when the burdens of this place, will be no more, we'll see Jesus face to face

But until that day, we'll hold on to you always

I know the journey seems so long

You feel you’re walking on your own

But there has never been a step

Where you’ve walked out all alone

Troubled soul don’t lose your heart

Cause joy and peace He brings

And the beauty that’s in store

Outweighs the hurt of life’s sting

I can’t wait until that day where the very one I’ve lived for always will wipe away the sorrow that I’ve faced

To touch the scars that rescued me from a life of shame and misery this is why this is why I sing

God is Love <3

Throughout your life you have probably experienced “conditional love”. Conditional love is based on your performance. These are emotions that might change from one moment to the next. This is responses such as “I will love you until someone better comes along”. On the other hand there is a deeper love called “unconditional love” and that is God’s love. He doesn’t love us based on our performances He loves us because He is love. God sacrificed his own son to restore that loving relationship He created for us to have with Him. The most well known verse is 1 John 4:9-10 “In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us...” This is an amazing love but sometimes people choose to be separated from God when all we really have to do is accept his Gift. Open your life to God and you will find this unconditional love. John 15, Psalms 103, and 1 John 4 are some good verses to read to grow in your understanding of God’s love. Much love.

Venting...

So I sat here awhile debating what my next blog should be. I thought about writing about this for awhile but never followed through with it. But I promised myself I would write everything I was feeling no matter what. For awhile now I have had this mentality of “Why me...I don’t understand...I am a good person”!! I sit and watch my friends with their perfect lives and their perfect boyfriends and just don’t get it. I have continued to be hurt over and over and over by guys when I bend over backwards for them. I have been cheated on, lied to, and broken up with all the time when I do nothing but go to the end of the world for them. But the other day I finally realized…I am the lucky one. Even though I have been hurt over and over it has made me the strongest person I could ever become. It has made me realize that I do have AMAZING friends and family who are there to support me no matter what and I am TRULY blessed. I have made some great friends who are going through the same problems and it is great to let go and share our feelings together. It brings an unbreakable bond I have never experienced. It makes me be very open to help people along the way. I have had a lot of people come to me for advice because of my situations. That to me is the best feeling in the world. I love sharing my thoughts and feelings and letting them know they aren’t alone. I have also made one of the best relationships through my struggles and that is with God. I have become so immersed in my faith and it has gotten me through every hard day I have had. So next time you have that “why me” moment please remember you ALWAYS have a great family and friends out there and you will find someone who is worth the wait and all this hurt….and you are in REALLY GOOD HANDS.

Olive Oil...

Olive Oil is a great all purpose remedy!! It’s absorbed quickly and helps lock in moisture in the skin. Olive oil is great for your whole body so keep a little bottle in your bathroom. If you can’t stand the smell you can mix it with a little of your favorite hand, body, or hair lotions.

Hair- If you want to save your dead ends dip them in olive oil for ten minutes before you shower. To thicken your hair soak your locks in ½ to ¾ cup of warm olive oil and wrap your hair in a towel for 30 minutes.

Hands- If you want to soften your hands put a good amount of olive oil on your hands, put on some cotton gloves and sleep with them on.

Lips- Dab a little olive oil on dry and chapped lips.

Face- If you want to soften and moisturize your face massage a small amount of olive oil into your skin. I use some great products from DHC.

Makeup remover- If you don’t want to spend money buying makeup remover just dab some olive oil on a cotton swab and it removes your makeup just as good.

Feet- To heal dry feet rub them with olive oil before bed, put on a pair of socks and leave them on overnight.

Body- Add a few tablespoons of olive oil to your bath at night and it will soften your skin. Men can use it for shaving cream if they have sensitive skin.

Encouraging Words

God knows what's in your heart and what you need before you ask. Even when you don't know for sure, God knows, because He knows you. He knows the outcome of every situation, and He's guiding you even when you might feel that you have lost your way. He knows how much you can bear, and He will give you strength and fill you with His grace and blessings as He walks with you every step of the way.He is surrounding you with His love and holding you gently in the palm of His hand.

The Bachelor Shocker!

Wow…I don’t even really know what to say about the ending of The Bachelor last night. In the finale I didn’t really have a preference for one girl over the other. Throughout the show Melissa did have a one up on Molly though because she was very outgoing and very good with his son. But I thought Molly came around at the end, she is very down to earth and genuine, and I started to like her too. So at the end I didn’t really mind who he chose because he would end up with an amazing girl. When he chose Melissa at the end it was great. I just loved how cute she acted and how great they all looked together. At the after the rose ceremony we all knew something was coming but didn’t know what. I was sweating during the after show…COME ON WITH IT ALREADY! I knew it…he didn’t want to be with Melissa anymore and couldn’t stop thinking about Molly. I just felt awful he had to tell Melissa on national tv! I mean I think I go through hard relationships…but to find out someone you’re engaged to loves someone else and tells you on national tv…ouch. Melissa just looked so angry she couldn’t even be hurt at the time. So then minutes later he tells Molly he broke it off with Melissa and bang there they were kissing. I mean I know you should follow your heart….but literally 5 minutes after you break it off with your finance and get the ring back! THAT IS RIDICULOUS. I mean give it some time for the other partner’s sake! I am anxious to read in a couple weeks from now what has happened to them all.

Less Is More

The natural look is the trend for spring 2009! Heavy mascara on the eyes with the use of sparkling and fresh textures to downplay for the natural look. The color for the spring is Gold. Give your cheeks a good bronzed look. Gloss your lips for a natural healthy look..red/pink/or nude is in! I love just waking up putting on mascara, applying a little bronzer to my cheeks, putting some vaseline on my lips and heading to class.
