My Friends..

I would just like to take time out of my day to blog about my friends. I am seriously truly blessed to have such amazing friends. I couldn't have asked God for better friends. They are my saving grace in times of need. I know some of my closest friends I don't get to see every single day, but we try our hardest to write, chat, or call. When I do get to talk to them it makes me very very very happy:) Just thinking about or seeing their faces makes me happy:) I know this blog is very cheesy but I just wanted to take time to let them know that they mean so so so much to me and I don't know where I would be in my life without them. I could probably write a whole book on how wonderful my friends are, but I will keep it short and sweet. I know some people might think it is creepy to tell your best friends you love them, but I don't care. I LOVE YOU! Love is love, no matter who it's for. And when you are lucky enough to have people to love, and be loved, you need to let them know how thankful you are for that, and how much you love them back...

Paul Harvey's Baptism

Since the church service I had today was about baptism and I just blogged to you below about examples God uses in the Bible about baptism, I thought I would share a real life story that touched me. Years ago Guidepost Magazine printed an article titled"My Quiet Heart." It was about the famous radio legend Paul Harvey whom described his baptism. I loved it and every single word that he spoke. I hope you do too.

Paul Harvey writes..“Seemingly, I had everything for which a man could ask. Everything, that is, except a quiet heart. Something was missing. This emptiness was still within. March of last year Angel and I were vacationing in Arizona, and one Sunday morning decided to attend services in a small church on a hilltop. Inside were a dozen or so worshipers on wooden, folding chairs, a scene reminiscent of ones I had seen many times as a youth. ... The minister preached about baptism, and my attention began to focus on the simple eloquence of this country preacher. I twisted in my chair. "Submission to God" the minister said. He asked those who wanted to be baptized to join him. I found myself by his side. The preacher said there was nothing magical about the water. Yet as I descended into its depths and rose again, I knew something life-changing had happened. A cleansing inside and out. No longer were there two Paul Harveys – just one happy one. I felt the fulfilling surge of the Holy Spirit. Afterward I cried like a baby. I looked at Angel and her eyes were shining. The change in my life since this simple act has been indescribable.”

One Baptism

Hello All! I had a great church service today and thought I would share. I hope everyone had a blessed day as well:)

One Baptism-Biblical Precedent
* One of Jesus' last commands to His Disciples was to "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." (Matthew 28:19)
* At first Proclamation of the gospel on the Day of Pentecost immediately following Jesus burial and resurrection about 3000 "accepted this message and were baptized." (Acts 2:38-41)
* Upon hearing the gospel, an Ethiopian man asked, "Why shouldn't I be baptized?" The evangelist Phillip immediately baptized him. (Acts 8:26-38)
* Being confronted by God about his persecution of Christians, Saul had his sights restored through the ministry of Ananias. Later as Paul recounted the moment, he reported that after restoring his sight, Ananias said "And now what are you waiting for? Get up and be baptized and wash your sins, calling on the name of the Lord." (Acts 9:3-18)
* A Roman centurion heard the gospel through Peter whom God had prepared to deliver the message. Witnessing the outpouring of God's Spirit on Cornelius and his family, Peter asked, "Can anyone keep these people from being baptized with water?" He then instructed that they be "baptized in the name of Jesus Christ." (Acts 10:9-48)
* Lydia, a business woman, listened to Paul proclaim the gospel on a riverbank in Philippi. As a direct result, "she and members of her household were baptized." (Acts 16:13-15)
* Being miraculously released from jail, Paul rescued the jailor from suicide. As a result the jailor asked "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" Paul said, "believe in the Lord and you will be saved." Then the Bible says,.."immediately he and all his family were baptized." (Acts 16:25-34)
* A Jewish leader living in Corinth, Crispus heard the good news Paul preached. He with his entire household along with many other Corinthians "believed and were baptized." (Acts 18:7-8)
* Paul found a group of disciples in Ephesus who had never heard of the Holy Spirit. When Paul inquired about their baptism, they replied they had received "John's baptism" Paul explained the meaning of John's baptism. They were immediately "baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus." (Acts 19:1-5)

**This is one of my favorite Bible scriptures on baptism...

"...having been buried with Him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised Him from the dead. When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you ALIVE with Christ. He FORGAVE us all our sins..." (Colossians 2:12-13)

Some Steps On How To Deal With Unrequited Love

Alright, so most if all of us have been in an unrequited love relationship. It can be a heartbreaking experience. So here are some steps to try to move past the pain.

Step 1: You have to accept the fact that he/she doesn't feel the same way about you. You will never move on if you continue to believe there is a chance they will eventually love you.

Step 2: You need to understand why they don't feel the same way about you. You will be able to move past the situation if you understand the reasons for the unrequited love.

Step 3: Spend more time with family and friends. Surround yourself with people who love and care about you.

Step 4: Keep very very busy. Throw yourself into work or hobbies.

Step 5: Always take time to remind yourself of your good qualities. Start writting in a journal. Write down things you love about yourself and what you truly deserve from someone.

Step 6: Go out on dates. I know it is really hard at first so this may take time. The worst that can happen is you meet someone and just become friends. You never know, you might meet someone who really likes you and can give you the world.

Step 7: If you have been broken up with before. Think back to how you overcame that pain. If you overcame it once, you can do it again.

Step 8: After a couple weeks, stop yourself from indulging conversations about them. Your pain will eventually fade.

Step 9: Always take time to ask yourself "Why would I want to be with anyone who doesn't love me back?" You deserve much better than that. Someone out there is waiting to find you and will give you exactly what you deserve.

Change

Who is this girl?! Yes, I made a change with my hair. Hope you like it:)

Bible Verse Of The Week

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God -- this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is -- his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:1-2

--God showed his love through the sacrafice of Jesuse therefore we should offer ourselves to him. We are worshipping him as we offer ourselves to honor him. We offer God praise as we refuse to be molded into the lifestyle of the world. God will become even clearer as we consistently do these things. As we display more of the character of God we are daily being transformed to be more like Jesus, with the Spirits help.

How It Works

"This is how it works.
You're young until you're not.
You love until you don't.
You try until you can't.
You laugh until you cry.
You cry until you laugh.
And everyone must breathe, until their dying breath.
No, this is how it works.
You peer inside yourself.
You take the things you like, and try to love the things you took.
And then you take that love you made, and stick it into someone else's heart."

God Spelled Backwards is Dog

Did you ever take time to realize that Dog is God spelled backwards. There are only a few things in this world that make me happier than a dog. When God made dogs he made them in His image. The bible verse 1 Corinthians reminds me of this.

Love is patient...

Love is kind...

Love isn't jealous...

Love does not brag and is not arrogant...

Three things remain: Hope, Faith, and Love. But the greatest of these is Love...

When God had made the earth and sky, The flowers and the trees. He then made all the animals, The fish, the birds and bees. And when at last He'd finished, Not one was quite the same. He said, "I'll walk this world of mine, And give each one a name." And so He traveled far and wide And everywhere He went, A little creature followed Him Until its strength was spent. When all were named upon the earth And in the sky and sea, The little creature said, "Dear Lord, There's not one left for me." Kindly the Father said to him, "I've left you to the end. I've turned my own name back to front And called you dog, my friend."

Tears In Heaven

I have been in love with Eric Clapton ever since I saw him in concert years ago. I mean who else could pull off the the button down shirt and jeans look? Anyways, I have so much respect for him it is unbelievable. In 1991 he was stricken with grief when his 4-year-old son Conor died as a result of a fall from an apartment window. This grief led Clapton to his most poignant ballad "Tears In Heaven." It seems that every note weights heavy with the sense of pain and loss that a parent can feel who has lost a child. However, years later Clapton said "In a sense, it wasn't even a sad song. It was a song of belief. When it says that there will be no more tears in Heaven, I think it's a song of optimism--of reunion." The thought of a heavenly reunion is very powerful indeed. I can't wait for that place where " God will wipe away every tear from our eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying"(Revelation 21:4). Better yet, it is a place where we will come face to face and forever be with Christ Himself. Isn't it so comforting to know that in our times of loss and grief, of tears and sorrow, Christ has made a heavenly home for us where there will be no more tears!

When She's Not There..

You may not be her first, her last, or her only. She loved before she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She’s not perfect - you aren’t either, and the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break - her heart. So don’t hurt her, don’t change her, don’t analyze and don’t expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she’s not there." -Bob Marley
